The main reasons given are that crops from your own garden are fresher and tastier than those bought from the store and to save money. But some are questioning exactly how much you really save. Great info, Hugh. I think that most people go for the greater savings, though, of knowing where the produce came from and the peace of mind that it’s not contaminated with God knows what! Besides, fresh is best in regards of nourishment and taste. Interesting point you make also regarding roots not touching the sides. Hmmm.
