We are all being encouraged to grow our own veggies to save money in these recessionary times, but think how much more you can save by growing your own flowers for cutting. Apart from sweet peas which take up little space, I have never grown flowers for use in the house.
Recently my wife has been buying bunches of alstroemeria from our local supermarket, but after seeing this display at a local garden, I am trying to grow some myself. Hopefully it will eventually grow into a good sized clump and provide plenty of flowers for cutting.
