    In my last post I mentioned an article “Waiting out winter: strategies for gardeners” which contained a list of things you can do indoors while waiting for spring. Top of the list was “Start something from seed. One seed tray on a windowsill can make a difference”. Taking this to the next level is the Windowfarm which allows you to grow up to 25 plants with an average size window. This is a hydroponic system which comes in kit form using recycled water bottles.     So what can you grow in your windowfarm? From the video you may have noticed various herbs and the harvest of two lettuce leaves and a tomato. If you are starting in the winter you want to choose fast growing crops so that you can see some early results. Terry Kramer writing for the Times-Standard recommends Asian greens. “These tasty, nutritious vegetables are the ultimate fast food when it comes to growing your own; they zoom.
